Edra.
A Tuscan design house where exceptional comfort meets expressive form, technological invention and the intelligence of handwork.

Beauty with performance.
Edra treats furniture as both a technical instrument and an emotional presence. Its most expressive forms are grounded in comfort, inventive engineering and the rare ability to combine advanced processes with highly skilled handwork.
Original ideas,
made possible.
Edra was founded in Perignano, Tuscany, in 1987 by Valerio and Monica Mazzei. Its first presentation introduced I Nuovissimi: four pieces by young designers selected from Milan’s Domus Academy. The message was clear from the outset—Edra would give space to original ideas rather than follow established names or fashions.
Only a year later, the company worked with Zaha Hadid on her first venture into product design. Producing the collection required knowledge from naval and automotive industries alongside exceptional in-house craft, establishing the fearless technical culture that still defines Edra.
That independence continued through furniture that behaves differently: flexible backs, forms that can be rearranged freely, and materials elevated into extraordinary surfaces. The result is often dramatic, but never theatrical at the expense of the body.

New icons
Getsuen, Rose Chair and later collaborations build a collection where art, engineering and comfort remain inseparable.
Unmistakably Edra.
Different authors produce radically different objects, yet the collection remains coherent through Edra’s insistence on exceptional comfort, material experimentation and uncompromising execution.
